Now that we're here, everything's clear, what's going to happen is just happening here. (Those are lyrics to a song we wrote).
2022 brought us back to gigs at the Waterside, the Shores, and events for Habitat for Humanity, the Oxnard Ambassadors, and the Santa Paula Pumpkin Patch. New places include the Portside Marina in Ventura, the Mission Bay Boat and Ski Club in San Diego. Goletasound's connection to playing near the water is from our name- Goleta is a small boat, and Sound is a small body of water.
The Trio of Tal, Bob & Pete performed at the Boatyard Pub, and will add The Haven at Whitesails this coming year as a featured venue.
We are grateful to all the friends who support us, and new friends that we have met. Thank you Bob and Karla, Larry and Mari, Rob and Kathy, Stan and Brenda, and Tal and Mabel for the many new friends and music lovers we have met through you.
Musical highlights this past year were many, but notably when Steve Reid joined on bass. He was our bass player until he moved to Arizona. We also brought in Dave Cain who adds keyboard sounds, need I mention Hammond B3. Another highlight was when Juan Carlos Rosales joined us on bass for a few gigs, and saved us from losing some gigs. Of course we always welcome Celia when she sings with us.
How can I not mention the introduction of White Ice, aka Rob Lalonde, who takes on another dimension when he raps on the song he and Tal do.
So in 2023, we will be having fun playing gigs and trying to get more. The calender is open, and we will try to play more at wineries and try some festivals or street fairs.
We hope to see you all again in 2023.
